Terms of Service

1. Accounts

• You need a username, email address, and password to register.
• To buy or sell, you must also provide a valid, verified Bangladeshi phone number. Each phone number can be linked to only one account.
• You're responsible for keeping your account information accurate and your login credentials secure.

2. Order Process

Every order moves through the same set of stages:

• 30-minute cancellation window: after placing an order, you have 30 minutes to cancel it yourself for free, as long as the seller hasn't already accepted it. If you don't cancel within that window (or the seller accepts first), the order becomes binding.
• Return at delivery: when the courier arrives, you may inspect the product and decide not to keep it. If you return it on the spot, you only pay the delivery charge — the product itself goes back to the seller.
• Failed delivery: if you refuse a shipment after it has already been dispatched, for reasons unrelated to a seller mistake, this is treated as a failed delivery and the associated courier cost is passed on. This rule exists to discourage fake or non-genuine orders.

3. Payment & Delivery

• Payment methods: Joro Mart currently supports Cash on Delivery (COD) and bKash only. Card payments and Nagad are not supported at this time.
• Buyer-protected payments: for orders paid through the platform, your payment is only released to the seller after delivery is confirmed — this protects you from paying for something that never arrives.
• Delivery charges: fees are calculated based on parcel weight and delivery zone — Dhaka, Standard Outside Dhaka, or Remote Zones (hill tracts, deep rural areas, and coastal regions). Joro Mart works with courier partners including Steadfast, Pathao, and RedX to fulfill deliveries.

4. Selling on Joro Mart

• Store types: you can run a Personal Store on your own, or a Team Store shared with others using a common store password.
• Membership tiers: Basic (free), Pro, and Expert — higher tiers unlock greater visibility and trust badges. Basic tier stores may face a temporary listing hold after their first order, to encourage verification or an upgrade.
• Commission: on every successfully delivered and paid order, you receive 93% of the product price; Joro Mart retains a 7% marketplace commission.
• Marketplace-funded discounts: weekly category deals and promo codes are funded entirely by Joro Mart — your payout is never reduced because a buyer used a discount or coupon.
• Payouts: earnings are credited to your Joro Mart wallet after delivery, and can be transferred to your registered bKash account once your balance reaches the minimum payout of ৳100. Completed payout records are held for a 5-day security period before being archived.
• Listings: you're responsible for the accuracy of your product photos, descriptions, pricing, and stock levels.

5. Messaging Rules

To keep the platform free of spam, direct messages between a buyer and seller can only begin after an established order between them — cold, unsolicited messaging is not permitted. Conversations that see no new activity for 90 consecutive days are automatically and permanently deleted.

6. Reviews

Only buyers with a delivered order for a given product may leave a star rating and written review for it. Product and seller ratings update automatically as new reviews come in.

7. Prohibited Conduct

The following are not allowed on Joro Mart, and may result in a warning, suspension, or permanent ban at our discretion:

• Fraud, scams, or fake orders
• Selling counterfeit or prohibited items
• Harassment of another user
• Manipulating reviews or ratings
• Attempting to bypass the messaging or payment restrictions described in these Terms

8. Reporting & Enforcement

Any user can report a product or store directly from its page, choosing a reason such as scam, counterfeit item, misleading listing, poor quality, inappropriate content, prohibited item, or another concern you describe yourself. Our team reviews reports and may edit or remove listings, adjust wallet balances, lock or reset ratings on compromised listings, and take action against the account responsible.

9. Limitation of Liability

Joro Mart acts as a marketplace connecting independent buyers and sellers. While we take steps to verify sellers and hold payments until delivery is confirmed, Joro Mart is not the manufacturer of listed products and does not guarantee the accuracy of every listing. To the extent permitted by law, Joro Mart's liability for any claim related to your use of the platform is limited to the amount you paid for the order in question.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as Joro Mart grows. Continuing to use the platform after an update means you accept the revised Terms. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. These Terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh.
