1. Information We Collect

• Account information: your username, email address, and password when you register.
• Phone number: buyers and sellers provide a verified Bangladeshi mobile number, which must be unique to your account and is used for delivery coordination.
• Profile photo: an optional profile picture you upload, cropped to a square before saving.
• Delivery address: Division, District, Thana/Area, full address, and a nearby landmark, used to calculate delivery zones and courier routing.
• Order and transaction data: cart contents, items ordered, prices, parcel weight, delivery zone, and order status history.
• Payment details: bKash transaction references for payments you make, and your registered bKash number if you sell on the platform and request payouts. We do not collect card or Nagad details, as these are not currently supported.
• Messages: text, photos, and voice recordings you send through the Joro Mart inbox to a buyer or seller you have an established order with.
• Reports: the reason and details you submit when reporting a product or store.
• Reviews and ratings: star ratings and written reviews you leave after a delivered order.
• Seller/store information: store name, store type (personal or team), business type, listed categories, and any trade license or TIN details you choose to provide.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To process and fulfill orders, and to calculate accurate delivery charges based on parcel weight and destination zone.
• To operate our payment model: buyers pay after delivery is confirmed, and Joro Mart releases the seller's share only once delivery is verified.
• To send order status updates as your package moves from Placed through Confirmed, Accepted, Shipped, Delivered, and Paid.
• To enable direct messaging between a buyer and seller who already have an order between them.
• To apply weekly category deals, and to surface New and Hot badges on relevant listings.
• To review and act on reports of scams, counterfeit items, or other policy violations.
• To maintain, secure, and improve the Joro Mart platform.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the marketplace:

• With sellers: your delivery address and order details, so they can prepare and ship your order.
• With courier partners (including Steadfast, Pathao, and RedX), to arrange pickup and delivery.
• With bKash, to verify and process payments and seller payouts.
• Within Team Stores: if a seller operates a Team Store, store data is accessible to anyone with the shared store access password.
• For legal and safety reasons: where required by law, or to investigate fraud, counterfeit listings, or violations of our Terms of Service.

4. Messaging Data

Joro Mart restricts direct messaging to protect users from spam: a conversation can only begin after an established order between the two parties, not through cold outreach. Messages — including any photos or voice recordings shared — are stored to support that conversation, and are automatically and permanently deleted if a conversation has had no new activity for 90 consecutive days.

5. Data Retention

• Order and transaction records are kept as long as reasonably needed for accounting, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
• Inactive message threads are purged after 90 days, as described above.
• If you request account deletion, we anonymize your personal details and clear your cart and wishlist, provided you have no active orders, pending payments, or outstanding seller obligations. Deletion requests with any of these outstanding will be blocked until they are resolved.

6. Your Choices

You can review and update your profile, delivery address, and payment details at any time from your account settings. If you have questions about your data or wish to request deletion of your account, please reach out through Contact Us or by reporting an issue directly on the relevant product or store page.

7. Security

Passwords are stored securely and are never visible to Joro Mart staff in plain text. Phone numbers are verified and kept unique to a single account, so one number cannot be used to create multiple accounts. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, though no online system can be guaranteed 100% secure.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our platform evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
