Who Can Use Joro Mart

Joro Mart supports four kinds of accounts:

• Guests — browse categories, search products, read reviews, and check daily deals without signing up.
• Buyers — manage a cart and wishlist, apply promo codes, place orders, track delivery, message sellers, and leave ratings.
• Sellers — list products, run a personal or team storefront, view sales analytics, and receive payout earnings.
• Administrators — verify accounts, approve payouts, moderate reported listings, and manage platform-wide promotions.

Accounts & Security

Sign up with a username, email, and password — no phone number required. We deliberately skip SMS/phone verification to protect your privacy and avoid spam calls; email verification, a security PIN, and security questions do the job instead.

• Registration requires confirming a 5-digit code sent to your email, or you can sign up instantly with Google.
• Optional profile photo upload (auto-cropped to a square), otherwise we generate a colored avatar from your first initial.
• You can change your username exactly once.
• Set up to 5 security questions and a 6-digit security PIN to protect password resets and sensitive account changes.
• Account deletion is a deliberate multi-step process (password + verification phrase + confirmation code) and is blocked while you have active orders or pending merchant obligations.

Shopping & Discovery

Browse by category — Electronics, Fashion, Drinks & Beverages, Groceries, Cosmetics & Beauty, Home & Living, Books & Stationery, Sports & Fitness, Baby & Kids, Motors & Accessories, and Handicrafts & Heritage — with real-time search suggestions as you type.

• Filter by category, price, minimum rating, and seller tier; sort by recommended, newest, popularity, or price.
• Out-of-stock items automatically sink to the bottom of listings.
• Items uploaded in the last 14 days get a "New" badge; fast-selling listings get a "Hot" badge.
• A rotating weekly deals calendar applies a 5% discount to one category per day: Sun–Electronics, Mon–Fashion, Tue–Home & Living, Wed–Groceries, Thu–Beauty, Fri–Sports, Sat–Books.
• Product pages show up to 3 photos, item condition (including usage duration for used items), original vs. discounted price, and the seller's dispatch location and membership tier.

Cart, Promo Codes & Checkout

Save items to your wishlist, adjust quantities and sizes in your cart, and see live subtotal updates. At checkout, promo codes apply tiered percentage discounts based on your order value, capped by the campaign's rules.

You can save multiple delivery addresses (Home, Office, etc.) with Division, District, Area/Thana, and a nearby landmark. Pay via Cash on Delivery or bKash.

Delivery Zones & Shipping Fees

Delivery cost is calculated from parcel weight and destination zone:

We work with trusted courier partners across Bangladesh — Steadfast Courier, Pathao Courier, and RedX — with bKash used for payments and merchant payouts. If you don't like an item at the door, you can hand it straight back to the rider and just cover the delivery charge.

Messaging & Inbox Rules

To keep the inbox spam-free, you generally can't start a brand-new conversation out of nowhere — a chat thread has to come from an active order, an existing conversation, or one of our official Joro Mart stores (those are always reachable, order or not).

• Share text, photos, and voice messages in a conversation.
• Unread messages from the same sender are grouped into one notification, not spammed individually.
• Conversations with no activity for 90 days are automatically deleted to keep your inbox private and clutter-free.

Order Journey

Every order moves through the same six milestones, with notifications at each step:

Placed → Confirmed (you have a 30-minute self-cancel window before this locks in) → Accepted (seller starts packaging) → Shipped → Delivered → Paid (seller is settled).

Once delivered, buyers can leave a 1–5 star rating and comment, which updates both the product's and the store's average rating.

Selling on Joro Mart

Becoming a seller takes a verified phone number, your birth year, store details, a shipping origin address, and a bKash payout account. Choose a Personal Store (just you) or a Team Store (shared dashboard access for a small business).

Product uploads take just a few minutes — photos, title, description, price, category, and stock — and go live right after meeting platform requirements. Your dashboard tracks revenue, pending earnings, wallet balance, orders, and reviews in one place.

How We Get Paid — Trust, Commission & Payouts

Joro Mart acts as the trusted middleman: buyers pay only after successful delivery, and we settle sellers once delivery is confirmed — no direct buyer-to-seller payments, which is what keeps fake payment scams off the platform.

After a delivered order, sellers keep 93% of the product price; Joro Mart retains a 7% commission to fund weekly sales, promo campaigns, security, fraud prevention, customer support, and platform infrastructure.

Promo codes never come out of a seller's payout — Joro Mart covers the discount itself. For example, on a ৳1000 item with a 10% promo code, the buyer pays ৳900, but the seller still receives ৳930.

Earnings land in the seller's wallet automatically on delivery. Payouts to bKash have a minimum of ৳100, and completed payout records are held under a 5-day security lock before they're finalized.

Safety, Reporting & Moderation

Buyers and sellers can report a product or store for fraud/scams, counterfeit items, incorrect descriptions, offensive content, manipulated reviews, prohibited items, or harassment. Reports feed into an active moderation queue, and accounts found in violation can be warned, suspended, or removed.
